This project uses a number of data visualization tools to trace, archive, and recount what happened in tennis and it’s cultures between the cancellation of the BNP Paribas Open on March 8, 2020 and the return of Grand Slam tennis at the US Open on August 31, 2020.

This timeline traces what some elite players did during the pandemic pause and what stories occupied the tennis world in the absence of competion. At the bottom of the timeline, I included a sort of alternate timeline. The "eras" at the bottom shows spring and summer tournaments as they were originally scheduled, the palimpsest on which the intervening stories are written.
